The Man

A poem about the man who runs the world.

The man
The man who roams the earth
Breaking hearts and breaking bones
The man who is entitled
To his white privilege and the mistreatment of females
The man who believes
That he is deserving of more love than he gives to others
The man who doesn’t see people
He only sees possessions
The man who treats others
Like they owe their submission to him
The man who is proud
Of his own wrongdoings
The man who has immense confidence because
It is other people’s responsibility to make him feel that way
The man who was taught growing up
That he matters more than others
The man who is truly
The victim of society’s sexist teachings
The man who should not take the blame
For the grooming that created this monster
The man who has never been told
No
The man who doesn’t understand the word
No
The man who
Runs the world
