As we close out Women’s History Month, Be’chol Lashon is highlighting 15 up-and-coming Jewish Women of Color whose thought-provoking artistry, leadership, and advocacy make the Jewish community more whole. Dr. Analucía Lopezrevoredo
Dr. Analucía Lopezrevoredo is a Peruvian-Chilean-American Jewtina, born in Peru and raised in Spain and the United States. An anti-oppression educator and researcher, Analucía founded Jewtina y Co. in 2019 to offer Latin Jews from around the world a community to celebrate and engage in critical dialogue about Jewish and Latin multiculturalism.

Cameron Bernstein
Cameron Bernstein is an artist and Yiddishist from the Chicagoland Jewish community. She graduated from the University of Chicago in 2020 with a BS in Statistics and a minor in Jewish Studies. Cameron has since built a TikTok following, creating engaging content about the Yiddish language, history, and culture. She is the Yiddish Book Center’s 2021-2022 Communications Fellow and is working towards a Master’s in Public Health at George Washington University.

Elisheva Rishon
Elisheva Ester Rishon is a Brooklyn-born, Brooklyn-bred, self-described J.A.A.P. (Jewish African American Princess). She currently resides in Los Angeles. An avid fashion and makeup lover, Elisheva has also created an empowerment brand called Eli7 Designs to help people heal and learn to love themselves through fashion.

Elizabeth Sohyeon Kleinrock
Liz Kleinrock (she/her) is an anti-bias and anti-racist educator of both children and adults and creates curricula for K-12 students, specializing in designing inquiry-based units of study. In addition to her work as a classroom teacher, Liz works with schools and companies to facilitate learning for adults that support anti-bias and anti-racist practices. In 2018, she received the Teaching Tolerance Award for Excellence in Teaching, and in 2019 delivered her TED Talk, “How to Teach Kids to Talk About Taboo Topics.” In 2021, Liz released her first book, Start Here, Start Now: A Guide to Antibias and Antiracist Work in Your School Community, with Heinemann Publishing. She resides in Washington, D.C., with her partner and two bunnies.

Gen Slosberg
Gen Xia Ye Slosberg is a writer, community organizer, and Jewish non-profit professional based in the Bay Area. Gen was born and raised in Southern China and moved to the United States as a teenager. She received her B.A. in Political Science from UC Berkeley in December 2020. She hopes to foster a sense of shared identity among participants in LUNAR and increase the visibility of Asian Americans in the Jewish community.

Healy Slakman
Healy Shir Slakman is a Tisch Fellow and 5th-year Rabbinical Student at Hebrew Union College in New York. She is beginning her 4th year as the Student Rabbi at Brooklyn Heights Synagogue and leads the community’s young professional musical Shabbat series called The Other Friday Night. Raised in a Sephardic/Ashkenazi Israeli/American Jewish home, she explores biblical commentaries, customs, and characters through the creation of multimedia art and paintings. She is also interested in approaching the complexities of Jewish culture, identity, and tradition through cooking, sharing recipes, and telling stories.

Jenni Rudolph
Jenni Rudolph is a Los Angeles-based songwriter, vocalist, and vocal producer, specializing in pop, R&B, funk, and electronic music. Growing up in the isolation of being a mixed Jewish-Asian-American in a predominantly white Christian town, Jenni took to songwriting as an outlet for self-expression and connection. Jenni is also the Creative Director of LUNAR: The Jewish-Asian Film Project.

Kaela Curtis
Kaela Curtis is a Black college student at UNC. She uses social media to educate and inform her identity and experiences as a Jewish, Black, Neuro Divergent Woman. She engages in organizing work in my hometown of Durham, NC, around racial, criminal and environmental justice. Kaela channels the power of social media to reach groups of people who may have never considered participating in social activism before, adapting to changing technologies and forms of communication by encouraging people to translate their powerful convictions into meaningful action.

Mama “Inez” Muralista
Mama Muralista is a Southern Paiute territory, Las Vegas, NV-based Jewish and Indigenous artist, muralist, and educator from Huichin Ohlone territory east Oakland, California. She is the creator of the Do You See Me Movement. Proceeds from this shop support BIPOC communities with mural and art workshops and monetary donations to Black Lives Matter, Sogorea Té Land Trust, and BIPOC led organizations.

Raven Schwam-Curtis
Raven Schwam-Curtis uses they/she pronouns and identifies as Black and Jewish. They graduated from Cornell University in May 2020 and are currently a Ph.D. student in African American Studies at Northwestern University. Over the last few months, they have developed a platform on Tik Tok to create visibility around the beauty and diversity of the Jewish community. Sara Aroeste
Sarah Aroeste is an American singer and composer of Ladino folk music inspired by her family’s Sephardic roots in Macedonia and Greece. She has spent the last twenty years bringing her contemporary vision for Sephardic culture- through music and books- to audiences worldwide. Aroeste writes and sings in Ladino, the Judeo-Spanish dialect that originated by Spanish Jews after their expulsion from Spain in 1492. She has also published children’s books ‘Ora de Despertar’ and ‘Buen Shabbat, Shabbat Shalom.’

Shaked Gabby
Shaked Gabbay is a Sephardic-Mizrahi Jewish Israeli of Turkish descent who is very passionate about her culture’s traditional food and languages. Zayit is a Sephardic “Jew by choice” who has documented her first-year post-conversion to Judaism. She studied literature and linguistics in college and is currently working as a paralegal.
